There are plenty of dazzling sites to admire in the city of Bangkok and while it may be impossible to explore it all in a single day, you can certainly spend your day getting a feel for the city’s atmosphere. If you plan on doing so, here are a few of Bangkok’s highlights that you can visit during a single day.
Grand Palace
This complex of magnificent buildings showcases a mix of Thai architecture with hints of European influence. Formerly the residence of the Kings of Siam, these buildings stand as a testament to Thailand’s rich history that carries a flair of wealth. Located in the heart of the city near several hotels in Bangkok Thailand, this complex is a must-visit on your city tour.
Wat Traimit
The Wat Traimit is known for housing the largest solid gold statue of the Buddha in the world, which makes it worthy of a visit on your one-day tour. The statue was forged during the 13th or 14th century and was originally plastered over to prevent it from being stolen. The statue’s gold exterior was once again discovered under the plaster in 1955.
Wat Pho
Located towards the south of The Grand Palace and 30 minutes from Chatrium Hotels and Residences, the Wat Pho is a complex of Buddhist temples, which features a large reclining statue of the Buddha that many flock to see. Apart from this, the complex also features several gilded Buddha images, golden statues and intricately designed murals.
