While the state of Florida has opened up again for business there are some attractions that are open and some that are not. Just in case you live in the area or visiting South Florida, here are a few places that are open for business and you can visit.
1. Lion Country Safari
Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach is open. The Drive-Thru Safari is open daily and the good thing is you and your family get to stay inside your vehicle while you view the animals. You are allowed to bring your own food and there are outdoors seating areas where you can sit and eat. The Lion Country Safari prefers that guests buy their tickets in advance online to reduce the risk of contact. Click here to read my post A Day Trip to Lion Country Safari.
2. Boomers
Boomers located in Boca Raton is also open for business. There are a lot of things you can do here such as go-karts, mini-golfing, laser tag, and more. No food is allowed but they do have a concession/dining area for guests to buy food and to sit and eat.
3. Flamingo Gardens
Flamingo Gardens in Davie is up and running and it’s a great place to learn about different plants species, observe the beautiful coral or “pink” flamingos. Due to limitation on entry they are requesting that you purchase your tickets online in advance. Click here to find out about an Insight into Flamingo Gardens.
4. Hollywood Beach and Boardwalk
A lot of beaches around are open but I specifically pointed out Hollywood Beach and Boardwalk because one, it’s close to many hotels and resorts, two, there are restaurants and shops along the boardwalk where you can sit, grab a bite, and people watch and third, the beach is just right there. Apart from that you can ride, skate or if you are like me just walk. Click here to read my post on Hollywood Beach and Boardwalk.
5. Butterfly World
Butterfly world is located in Coconut Creek. You can see small, medium, and large, I mean really large butterflies roam free. There are different species of butterflies and different colors, but butterflies are not the only thing you will see here. There are Parrots and other species of birds and bugs. For more you can read my article on Experience Butterfly World Florida by clicking here.
6. Bayside Marketplace
Bayside Marketplace is an open air shopping center. at least some parts of it is. There are lots of name brand stores, restaurants, and local vendors available. You don’t necessarily have to go to Bayside marketplace with the intention of shopping or eating, it just a relaxing place to walk around, hang out, listen to the band playing (mostly on Sundays) or dance if you are in the mood, or just observe the ocean. There is also a nearby park, good place to have a picnic.
8. The Miami Zoo
Zoo Miami as it is called is the place to find all kind of animals whether they are amphibians, birds, mammals or reptiles you name it, it’s there. They do require you to buy your tickets online and no outside food is allowed. Masks are required and are available for purchase on site.
7. Vizcaya Museum
Here you can just learn about the history of this great house and landscape located in Miami just off US-1. It’s required that you buy your tickets online on their website. Masks are required.
9. Miami Seaquarium
The Miami Seaquarium is currently opened Friday through Mondays only. You will have to submit to a temperature check upon entering. Hand sanitizing stations are in place throughout. Also currently there is a sale going on, you can get a years pass for the price of a one day ticket.
Currently attractions such as Jungle Island previously called Parrot Jungle, Monkey Jungle, and the Coral Castle are still closed.
Remember when going into public places increase your exposure to COVID-19 wear a mask, stay 6 feet apart, and while some places may have sanitizing stations I think it’s still a good idea to bring your own.
